As a KidPass teacher, you get to decide what classes you want to create and teach. We encourage instructors to teach classes on topics that they are both passionate about and are experienced with, as well as teaching age groups of students that you have taught before. Parents are always welcomed to attend classes with their children, and required to do so in many cases. KidPass allows teachers to offer a wide range of teaching options, including: In-person and online classes Single-session classes and multi-session “Semester” courses Pre-recorded videos Age ranges from 0-13+ Individual and group classes Over 20 categories: Academic, Arts & Crafts, Culture, Dance, Language, Martial Arts, Music, STEM, Sports, & more PreviousNext Lesson 3: Designing compelling classes At KidPass, we do not provide the curriculum or materials for classes. It is up to you to create classes and curriculums that you are passionate about! In terms of subjects to offer, we recommend that you first start by browsing activities on KidPass.com to see what is popular in terms of subjects, prices, age groups, and days and times of the week to teach. Classes that do best are often high-interest subjects (such as “Ballet”), but with a unique spin to attract the attention of students (such as “Disney Princess Ballet for Toddlers with Music from Frozen”). Your success as a teacher is ultimately determined by your ability to create exciting classes that students want to take! PreviousNext Lesson 4: Interactive group classes Most parents use KidPass for live interactive group classes, including both single-session “Drop-in” classes and multi-session “Semester” courses. Group classes are most popular with teachers as well and offer higher earnings potential as multiple students can enroll in the class at the same time. Additionally, many teachers offer tutoring and pre-recorded video classes. In terms of age ranges, KidPass offers classes for kids of all ages, from 0 to 18 years old. That said, classes for pre-school aged children between the ages of 3-5 years old are often the most popular since this age group is often in need of supplementary activities throughout the day. Classes for elementary school aged children between the ages of 6-11 years old have also been rapidly growing. PreviousNext Lesson 5: Flexibility & income You determine your own prices to charge parents for your activities. Most classes on KidPass range from $5 to $15 per student for a 30 minute activity. The more students you have in a class, the more you can earn. KidPass charges a referral fee based on the type of activity. For Online Classes that are delivered using our KidPass Digital Platform, KidPass takes a 20% referral fee and a 5% platform fee, which means that you receive 75% of the selling price. If you choose to offer other types of items (such as Videos, In Person Activities, or Merchandise), different fees will apply based on the type/category. You are paid monthly by the 15th of each month for the previous month’s bookings. Many of our top partners typically build up their business on KidPass over time by starting with lower prices to attract new students, and increasing prices over time as they get busier. For new teachers, we also encourage them to regularly offer demo classes, so that parents can try out a class (much like the common practice of offering an open house or free introductory classes). Teachers on KidPass determine their own schedules and are independent contractors. We have many teachers who work part-time as well as full-time on KidPass. PreviousNext Lesson 6: Use our online teaching platform Online classes on KidPass take place through the KidPass Digital Platform, which integrates Zoom for group video chat. When you create your classes on the KidPass Partner Dashboard, we automatically create the hosting link for the class for you and any students who book your class will automatically be given the link to attend. All online classes using the KidPass Digital Platform are automatically recorded for security purposes. PreviousNext Lesson 7: Other requirements Teachers must be at least 18 years old and pass a background check prior to starting. KidPass currently supports teachers who are residents in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. If you are in another locality and want to be a teacher, you can submit an application and we will be in touch to determine eligibility.
