Looking to pack in some holiday-related activities in the next couple of weeks?

Look no further! There’s lots to do in and around the DC area, from arts and crafts to ballet to special holiday events, and more. Check out all our ideas below!

Best for: age 5 and up

Get your mini and yourself ready for the holidays! Choose from blowouts or hairstyles like braids and buns, go alone or book a Mommy & Me session, at this award-winning salon.

Turn Them Into Tiny Dancers at Tippi Toes Dance

Where: Navy Yard
Best for: age 18 months – 5 years

It’s the season of the Nutcracker, and if you’re thinking about bringing your little ones to see a show, why not inspire them to discover their own inner ballerina? Music, movement, balance, and basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly, and positive manner in these classes.

Try Ballet at My Gym Bethesda

Where: Bethesda
Best for: age 3 – 5 years

Or check out these ballet lessons at My Gym Bethesda. Children will gain confidence as they learn the vocabulary of ballet, are taught basic stretches and barre exercises, and are given opportunities to move to music. This class is designed to encourage an early love of dance.

Get into Holiday Crafts and Holiday Music at KidVille

Where: Bethesda
Best for: age 5 and under

Kidville’s goal is to make the lives of families with young children better and easier by providing a fun, safe, and clean environment for children to learn, play, and grow. There are a bunch of classes to choose from, like Circle Sing for Everyone, Ballet Tea Party, Rockin’ Railroad: Unplugged, or Big Messy Art. All classes are age-appropriate.

Make Holiday Crafts at NoVa Playlabs

Where: Chantilly
Best for: age 2 – 6 years

At this educational play center, kids will engage in sensory art lessons where they’re encouraged to get messy! Snacks included!

Get Crafty at Gymboree

Where: ColumbiaCrofton, and D.C.
Best for: under 5 years

You can also head to Gymboree for holiday crafts. Choose from Family Art Class or Art III, where kids will gain confidence in self-expression and artistic exploration through a hands-on, multimedia experience.

Get Artsy at Seeway Art Studio

Where: Rockville
Best for: age 4 and up

For even more artsy fun, check out Seeway Art Studio. There are lots of different classes to choose from, like Still Life Drawing, DIY Painting, Family Creativity, and more. A great way to make some holiday crafts (or just have fun!)

Drop Them Off at Young Yogi Art Camp

Where: Hyattsville
Best for: age 3 – 9 years

Give yourself a night to finish your holiday shopping (or just relax) while your little yogi has a blast at Yogi Night Camp! In this 3-hour session, your young yogi will learn yoga poses, taught tools to control their breath, and techniques to focus and concentrate. A light, healthy snack is included.
