10 Instagram-Worthy NYC Experiences You Won’t Want To Miss This Fall

With so much to see and do in NYC this fall, how do you choose?

May we suggest going by the most photo-worthy? We’ve compiled a list of 10 Instagrammable experiences to take your kids to in the coming months. Not all these experiences will last, so get in while the going’s good!

Pixinity

Where: SoHo
When: Now through November 8th
Best for: Ages 2 and up

This pop-futuristic 5,000-square-foot art exhibition and playground was inspired by gaming, pop-culture, and pixels. Let your kids play with the likes of pixellated avocados and milk, huge dice, and a seriously cool bubble pit! Bonus: a portion of proceeds go to Autism Speaks.

Color Factory

Where: TriBeCa
When: Ongoing
Best for: All ages

Head to Tribeca for a multi-sensory exhibit inspired by (you guessed it) color. Kids will love making their way through the 16 interactive installations, like custom-colored ice cream, a light-up dance floor, and a giant ball pit. You’ll also get colorful treats like macarons along the way to taste.

National Geographic Encounter: Ocean Odyssey

Where: Times Square
When: Ongoing
Best for: Ages 3 and up

We know Times Square isn’t your fave, but this one is worth it. Go on an interactive underwater journey where kids will encounter a life-sized Humpback whale, witness a battle between ferocious Humboldt squid, and watch a magnificent bait ball feeding frenzy.

Ocean Cube

Where: SoHo
When: Now through October 23rd
Best for: All ages

For some more under the sea fun, head to this bio-luminescent art exhibit with (artists’ renderings of) coral reefs, jellyfish, and whales. In addition to the creative installations, Ocean Cube hopes to raise awareness of our impact on the environment.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not

Where: Times Square
When: Ongoing
Best for: Ages 7 and up

Get ready to immerse yourself in the unusual, the unexpected, and the unbelievable at Ripley’s. Inside, you’ll find dinosaur bones, an interactive black hole, a real meteor, and plenty of other photos ops. Trust us, there’s something here for everyone!

Wonderworld NYC

Where: Williamsburg
When: Ongoing
Best for: All ages

Explore a mushroom garden, step in a giant teacup, splash in a bubble swimming pool, and soar to the moon at this fantasy-themed space. Photo ops are around every corner—our personal fave is this amazing pink and purple moon.

Arcadia Earth

Where: NoHo
When: Ongoing
Best for: All ages

It’s all about sustainability at Arcadia Earth. A variety of installations (made from upcycled and recyclable materials) take you on a journey through our planet, using augmented and virtual reality. Insider tip: download the app first—you’ll need it to guide you on your journey.

Sloomoo Institute

Where: SoHo
When: Opens October 25th
Best for: Age 5 and up

In this part-installation, part-STEM program, Sloomoo Institute brings together exhibits, interactions, and sensory experiences—including all the slime you can handle. We’re especially excited about the DIY slime bar, fiberglass slime sculptures, and slime works by artists Jillian Mayer, Jen Catron, and Paul Outlaw. Plus, everyone gets to wear a super cute poncho and matching hood—we can already picture the adorable photo ops!

Yayoi Kusama at David Zwirner Gallery

Where: Chelsea
When: Opens November 9th
Best for: Age 10 and up

This art exhibit of new work by famed Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama is set to open at the David Zwirner Gallery with sculptures, paintings, and a brand new Infinity Mirror Room. While the multi-sensory exhibit is sure to wow little ones (and your Insta followers), we can almost guarantee lines will be long, so we suggest bringing older (or super patient!) kids.

Museum of Ice Cream

Where: SoHo
When: Opens December 14th
Best for: All ages

MOIC returns to NYC with a 25,000-square-foot permanent space! The 13 installations—everything from a New York-inspired “Celestial Subway” to a huge sprinkle pool—celebrate your favorite dessert. It’s super Instagrammable and super delicious!
