So we’ve rounded up all the best playspaces you can pop into for a visit and stay for a class, making your fun experiences double the fun—and take up double the time! Check out all the awesome playspaces below and start saying “yay” to Winter days!

Broadway Dance Center for Children and Teens
Upper West Side / 4 months – 17 years old

Not only does this center offer up a fun space to play and explore with mats, blocks, tunnels, parachutes, toys, musical instruments, and more at their daily Open Play option, but they also have TONS of classes! Choose from Hip Hop, Creative Movement, Broadway Ballet, Tumbling, Baby Movers, or Listen & Wiggle for an active filled afternoon of dance, movement, and play.

City Treehouse
Chelsea / 6 months – 5 years old

This open play is not to be missed! Enjoy climbing and sliding, as well as crawling into the secret star cave that is illuminated by hundreds of tiny, twinkling fibre optic lights. This gym/preschool alternative, founded by the infamous Elliot, offers up classes that focus on movement and development. During their daily open play, your kiddos can run, jump, and climb in the large common room. Sign up for one of their active classes like Start Out Small, Creative Dance, or Beginning/Intermediate Gymnastics, to name a few, and your little ones will dance or tumble right through the afternoon!

Sign up for this fun class and you’re actually booking a class/play combo right off the bat! Your kiddos will enjoy a fun sing-a-long that cleverly encourages toddler milestones (clapping, waving, sitting up, standing, crawling, walking, animal sounds, etc), while also teaching basic dance technique, music theory, introduction to various age appropriate instruments, and even a sprinkle of sign language. Enjoy open play time in the Play Space for an additional 45 minutes before or after class.
