8 Fun and Delicious Ways to Celebrate National Cookie Day in NYC

While we fully support a day devoted entirely to cookies, we think you should let your little cookie monsters celebrate National Cookie Day all WEEK long by cooking up delicious eats in the kitchen! From whipping up rainbow macarons to building a gingerbread house to indulging in a cookie-inspired mani/pedi, your mouth is going to water at all the fun and yummy ways we’ve found for you to pay homage to the cookie and other tasty eats.

Cooking! at Kids at Work 
December 7th, 10:45 AM & 12 PM / Chelsea / 2 – 4 years old

This cooking class includes lots of sensory play (think bins of cornstarch, flour, and cornmeal) where your kiddos are encouraged to touch, feel, and squish to their hearts are content. These classes are ‘hands-on’ as children chop, mix, combine, and are introduced to kitchen tools like the whisk, spatula, blender, and mixer. Classes will cover cooking safety and children will be encouraged to get messy!

Create Your Dream Chocolate Candy Bar at Chocolate Works
All week, various times / Upper West Side / 3 – 12 years old

A candy bar is not technically a cookie, but it’s equally delicious and worth a mention. Little chocolate lovers can create their own personal candy bar at this chocolate factory. Choose your chocolate, choose your fillings, and make it your own!

Find Heaven in Hell’s Kitchen Dessert Tour at Sugartooth Tours
December 8th, 1 PM / Chelsea / 4 – 16 years old

If you don’t feel like putting in the work to actually MAKE your dessert, take a tour as a family and sample the best treats Hell’s Kitchen has to offer. From artisanal handcrafted chocolates to traditional American pies to some of the best cookie in NYC, you’re guaranteed to satisfy that sweet tooth!

Gingerbread House Making at Agata & Valentina
December 8th, 11 AM / Upper East Side / 4 – 12 years old

Combine your kiddos’ love of cookies and crafts and build a gingerbread house!  They will get to assemble and decorate their own personalized gingerbread houses using cookies, icing, and an assortment of candy’s and toppings.

For little cookie monster divas, consider booking a delicious mani/pedi at this kiddie spa. True to its name, after every service, you can pull up a chair at the bar for… you guessed it, complimentary milk and cookies.

Macaron Class at Woops! Bakery
December 8th, 1 PM / Upper East Side / 3 – 10 years old

Brighten up your day at this workshop where aspiring bakers will learn to make colorful macaron cookies. Your kids will mix the ganache and learn how to color and decorate the cookies. As if that’s not tasty enough, the bakeshop will also be serving milk and cookies during the class and parents can enjoy a complimentary beverage.

Mini chefs and little artists will cook and craft their way through this exploratory class, using both their palate to taste fun recipes they make from scratch and their palette to craft fun art projects.

This scrumptious class focuses on kid friendly themes, colors, numbers, and shapes that are perfect for a mid-day snack! Little hands are kept busy creating healthful snacks using fresh, wholesome ingredients while also practicing other age-appropriate developmental skills. Little chefs eat their creations and leave with a happy belly!
