Are you looking forward to that extra day off with your kids? Maybe they even have off the whole week! In case you and your little ones are feeling cooped up inside and are looking for something to do, read on for our top President’s Day activity suggestions.
Drop-Off Mini Camp at The Craft Studio
9 AM – 1 PM / Upper East Side / 4-10 years old
If you’re in the mood for something crafty, The Craft Studio is the perfect place to let your child’s imagination run wild. The Craft Studio is located in a beautifully decorated spacious studio with an incredibly fun and creative staff. This Presidents’ Day, they’re hosting a “camp”—which is really a mini-party. There’s crafts, games, pizza, and more!
Open Play at HudsonPLAY
9–11 AM / Jersey City / 0-4 years
Spend the morning playing at HudsonPLAY. With a focus on interactive entertainment and fitness, HudsonPLAY is designed for serious fun with dynamic play areas for toddlers, state-of-the-art activities for preschoolers, and a challenging Ninja Warrior Course for everyone else. A great way to expend that extra home-from-school energy.
Open Soccer at Upper 90 Soccer Center
9:30 – 12:30 PM / Astoria / 2 ½ – 16 years old
If you’re in Queens with little ones who have energy to burn, bring them to this open play soccer session on a turf field. Upper 90 Soccer Center is the premier soccer space in Queens with a 3,200 square foot indoor soccer field. Hours of high-energy fun for kids age 18 months and up!
We’ve got two awesome activities at this sports playspace! In the morning, kids age 3-5 are invited to Fastbreak Kids’ midwinter break camp, filled with games, sports, arts and crafts, and time in the always popular bounce house! In the afternoon, kids age 1-5 are invited to join an open play session on the brand new indoor turf field.
Open Play at The Little People Party
10 AM – 5 PM / Williamsburg, / 0 – 3 years old
The Little People Party is a tot party for little people (and their big people) that distinguishes itself from the competition by making fun a priority for all. The Party offers toys, music, and games and, just as importantly, offers the big people a mental break. While focus is certainly on the enjoyment and safety of the littlest attendees, the welcoming environment and warm, extraverted hosts have created a dependable safe haven and community for local parents and caregivers alike.
Presidents’ Day Cooking Class at Allergic to Salad
12 – 12:45 PM / Astoria / 21/2 – 5 years old
This hands-on healthy vegetarian cooking class with toddlers teaches little chefs how to mix, measure, and even CHOP their way to cooking up some amazing culinary delights. Kids are encouraged to put their “Adventurous Eater” hats on to explore potential dishes like Chilled Carrot Cumin Soup, Ribbon Salad, and Black Bean Breakfast Burritos. This class helps children develop basic kitchen skills like kitchen safety, knife skills, how to measure ingredients properly, explore kitchen tools, and more.
Presidents’ Party at Chocolate Works
12 – 1 PM and 2 – 3 PM / Upper West Side / 3-15 years
Chocolate Works, a chocolate factory, party destination, and candy store all in one, has two hour-long sessions on President’s Day. Bring your children age 3 and up in to learn how to make chocolates in honor of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Plus, make and enjoy your own patriotic popcorn creation!

This children’s play space offers open play and enrichment classes in a “mommy and me” format for young children. Let your child’s imagination run wild at this space where creativity and exploration rule!
Kids’ and Teen Art Camp at Creatively Wild Art
All day / Dumbo / 5 years and up
Creatively Wild Art Studio is offering all day art camps for both kids 5-9 and teens. Happy Campers spend an action-packed day delving into a huge variety of exciting artistic techniques, learning skills and exploring mediums. Taught by professional teaching artists in a relaxed studio environment, this is the perfect safe place for creative play!
The Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum, a non-profit, educational institution featuring the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, the world’s fastest jets, and a guided missile submarine, is having Kids’ Week from February 18th to 24th! There will be tons of STEM-inspired activities and games, plus special guests—think zoologists, authors, and NASA scientists. You won’t want to miss this.
